Country Entry Formalities - Carlsbad International School

If you have just received a letter of acceptance to your dream intenrnational high school or if you are only about to start the application at Carlsbad International School, you should definitely check the entry formalities for the Czech Republic. The entry requirements depend on your nationality. Our Immigration Office is here to support you and your family throughout the process and help you study abroad.

We advise you to…
  • Start on time. If you plan to join Carlsbad International School in August, begin the application process in January. If you are scheduled for the January intake, start working on your documents in September.
  • Check that your passport is valid for at least 18 months from the planned entry date.
  • Complete all the required documents:
    a) Application form     b) Letter of acceptance for studies at CIS    c) Valid passport of the student and both parents (copies)       d) Health Insurance                                        e) Abstract from the Register of Criminal Records
Where do you come from?

a) Students from the following countries do not need a visa:  28 EU countries plus Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

Have the following documents ready: Power of attorney, Parents´ Statement

b) Students from the countries below do need a visa but CIS can apply for the visa once the student arrives at school.  The student does not need to apply for a visa in his/her home country.  42 Countries: Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Venezuela, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei sultanate, St. Christopher and Nevis, Guatemala, Honduras, Chile, Croatia, Israel, Japan, Canada, The Republic of Korea, Costa Rica, Macedonia, Malaysia, Mauritius, Monaco, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Montenegro, Salvador, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, USA, Mexico, Serbia, The Holy See, Taiwan, Uruguay, Hong Kong, Macao.

Have the following documents ready: Power of attorney, Parents´ Statement, Immigration questionnaire

c) Students from other countries must apply for a Student Entry visa prior to arriving in the Czech Republic.  The visa application process takes time and students who require a visa should apply immediately at the nearest Czech embassy or consulate.
